Presentation given by Bob Read, ACER
Bob Read started his session by sharing his resources and giving us the link to his online sticky pad Linoit and saying “if I drop dead now you can find my link”. Well, Bob was fine and shared some great ideas with us. Not least the merits of using online stickies such as Linoit and Padlet; simple tools yet great for collaborative learning and sharing
Bob also showed us how to use the mind mapping XMind tool to create so much more than just mind mapping. The examples we looked at were for functional English and ESOL activities with vocabulary and images as well as drag and drop. So much better than scissors and card.
Other tools that we looked at with Bob was the Xerte toolkit. In particular a learning object created as part of theDiscover Jisc project which are Equine Xerte resources consisting of 4 modules with embedded English skills, that could be easily adapted for other vocational areas.
